'Zuma has no heart, soul & compassion': Save SA
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Save SA leader, Sipho Pityana, has laid into President Jacob Zuma - suggesting he has done nothing for the country and for nation-building.

Pityana addressed a crowd at the St George's Cathedral in Cape Town in what the organisation is calling the 'real State of the Nation Address' - on the eve of the 2017 SONA proceedings.

During his speech, Pityana referred to the recent Esidimeni tragedy - in which at least 94 mentally-ill patients died as a result of what a damning report says was negligence by the Gauteng Health Department.
He's described Zuma's statement on the deaths as 'cold'.
"Let me tell you what a real president would've done. He'd be out there visibly consoling the nation, addressing the needs of the families, and showing compassion. A real president would order the national flag be flown at half mast - and called for a national day of mourning," he said.
