Jayshree sits down with the Consul General of India in Nquthu
Updated | By Jayshree Parusaramen
Jayshree got the chance to attend a royal affair, which was held to commemorate an historical moment in South Africa.

I got the privilege of being invited by King Goodwill Zwelithini to commemorate the Battle of Isandlwana recently, and it was the experience of a lifetime.
According to the Zulu Culture website, the battle took place in 1879 and was the first encounter between the British Empire and the Zulu Kingdom, which saw 20,000 warriors attacked by 1,800 British soldiers.
It was indeed a privilege to be able to relive South African history. With some colleagues clad in traditional attire, we set off on an early morning road trip to Ulundi.

The battle took place at Nquthu near the Holy Mountains. There's something special about the Holy Mountains that I cannot describe in words, but could certainly be felt within me.
I had the privilege of interviewing many interesting dignitaries, as well as the family of the Royal Household. It was an experience that I will never forget.
Over the next few weeks, I will be publishing a series of interviews with some of the VIPs who were invited to the event.
Take a listen to my first interview with the Consul General of India, Dr K.J. Srinivasa, below:
