Year in Review: What's the appropriate form of dress when visiting the gym?

As we approach the New Year, we rehash the question: Is there an appropriate form of dress that gymgoers should agree on, regardless of their size?

We take a look back at a story that attracted many East Coast Radio listener's attention.

An avid gym goer shared a video of herself working out at the gym doing a weight set. She is wearing super short shorts that are a shade of nude with a crop top and doing weights and squats.

People came down hard on her for her gym wear, saying that it was not appropriate.

We are not advocates for any one type of gym wear but we do know that Vic Naidoo is all about bold and racy gym wear.

And there's nothing wrong with that, but over time wearing shorts and revealing gym wear to the gym has created a stereotype.

Many think that the people who wear revealing gym attire are trying to attract unwanted attention. When they get the attention, then they sometimes have a problem with it.

We are firm believers that when you look good, you feel good and perhaps that should be something that we should all lead by. Instead of judging others on their attire based on what we think is acceptable and what's not.

We do acknowledge that when visiting the gym, there are some confident people and some who are on their confidence journeys. So, we should be mindful of that when visiting the gym.
