It's not uncommon to hear about dognapping, over the years it has become a lucrative business for criminals.

Dogs are an expensive commodity; the more rare the breed, the more money these thieves can get. Dognapping refers to the crime of taking dogs from their owners.

One woman, Ali Zacharias, has gone viral for trying by all means to stop dognappers from taking her pet Bulldog, Onyx.

"Ali Zacharias was eating at a Whole Foods in downtown Los Angeles on Jan. 18 around 3:45 p.m. with her French Bulldog, Onyx when a female suspect picked up her dog and fled." (USA Today)

Zacharias pursued the suspect and even jumped onto the hood of the car to stop the suspect from taking her dog.

Just a matter of fact, her dog, a Merle French Spotted Bulldog, prices for anything between $1,500 (R28,000) and $3,000 (R56,000).

Sadly, the police are still looking for the suspect and Onyx has yet to be found.
