If you are like us, then you don't like to see that little read notification box that appears to let you know that you have unread messages/notifications. There's something about wanting it to be clear and read...

If you know, then you know. If you don't, then ignore us. But we think that the reason behind this is the need to have control over completing tasks and making sure that things are done and dusted. It leaves us with a sense of fulfilment in a way.

That satisfying feeling of clearing out your unread messages or striking off something from your 'to-do' list. Alternatively, it could be that a mild state of OCD that we believe is innate in many people. Nevertheless, our Meta friend, Mr. Zuckerberg, has even thought of a way to help us with this pet peeve.

Introducing a new function to the disappearing message feature, Mark Zuckerberg announced the new feature on his Facebook page. The update on the official website read:

"When you enable Disappearing Messages, you can set messages to disappear 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days after the time they are sent. The most recent selection only controls new messages in the chat. This setting won’t affect messages you previously sent or received in the chat. In an individual chat, either user can turn disappearing messages on or off. In a group chat, any group participants can turn disappearing messages on or off. However, a group admin can change group settings to allow only admins to turn disappearing messages on or off." This feature was introduced earlier this year, but only allowed users to set the disappearing function for seven days. It now allows you to set it for a full day and for three months. So if you don't want the added admin of having to go delete a message from your main WhatsApp screen, then WhatsApp will be able to do it for you now.

Ah the joys of technology, it even helps you deal with your pet peeves...Will this new feature benefit you in some way or not? Take part in our poll below to let us know.
