We spoke about the success of the 'Bug-a-Salt' gun that not only helped many people get rid of those pesky flies, but also provided some sort of entertainment.

When the sales of these guns grew in leaps and bounds in South Africa, it was obvious that the creator would use this to their advantage. So now without a further ado, the creators have come up with something that tackles cockroaches...

Consumers have shown interest in wanting to "evaporate" larger insects. Insects that are the "'big game' of the bug world: wasps, and cockroaches, and maybe even a scorpion." (Business Insider)

South Africans will be able to get their hands on the Shred-Er, which is "a long-barrelled revolver powered by a carbon dioxide cartridge, which fires salt packed into special ammunition clips." (Business Insider)

If you want to feel like a kid again and play cowboy, then you have to watch the ad for the Shred-Er, it is both entertaining and practical for those bugs you want to get rid of...

In case you missed it the last time, the shotgun works with ordinary table salt.

"That Bug-A-Salt mini shotgun is loaded from ordinary table salt, and powered by a pump action. The CO2 Shred-Er requires pre-packaged rounds of salt, not unlike the "clappers" of those childhood revolvers. But it is less of a toy than either, built on an airgun chassis and featuring a mechanism very much like that of a real revolver, down to a double-action trigger and the ability to de-cock it." (Business Insider)

Although there hasn't been any information on how much the Shred-Er will be retailing for in South Africa yet, it is currently selling for the equivalent of R2,000 in the U.S.A.

And since it is gaining popularity with many people, it doesn't seem like there will be a drop in the price. Now that's a pretty number of pennies to spend for a shotgun that attacks insects, perhaps it is worth it if you add in the entertainment element...
