We love those stories of achievement, especially when it comes to finally getting something that you have always dreamed of. Nelson Makamo, an esteemed and talented South African artist, always dreamed about owning a Porsche.

That dream has finally come to light as he shows off his Porsche 911. It's not like any other Porsche 911, though, it's a one-of-a-kind that he has made his own.

"Makamo, whose art has appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, has dreamed of owning a Porsche 911 ever since he was a child in rural Limpopo in the 1980s. That day recently came when the artist took delivery of a Jet Black Metallic 911 Carrera Coupe," MSN states.

He truly took his art to the next level with his dream car when he decided to set out to hand-paint selected interior and exterior panels, which he did in his studio and then sent through to Porsche Centre Johannesburg. The team there prepared it for a final lacquer coating and thereafter fitting.

"These items included the exterior mirror covers and rear bumper, as well as the dashboard inlays, door panel inserts and even the front seat mouldings," MSN adds.

Makamo paid tribute to the people that have helped him achieve his dream, he acknowledges that he didn't get here alone.

"He also paid tribute to his Mother, for the first time on an artwork, with a ‘Mma’ inscription on the left side door panel insert (which means Mother in his home language of Sepedi). Makamo said his mother inspired him to believe that success through art was possible." (MSN)
