She's getting married and has mixed feelings

Sometimes you just need to vent to strangers and they will help you feel better...

When you think of weddings, you immediately think of happiness, family, love, and joy.

But the emotion that comes with these joyous occasions sometimes stems from estranged family affairs.

And that can be a difficult thing to deal with. Even if you have made your peace with your circumstance, feelings of sadness can harbour and trouble you.

Because who envisions their big day without their loved ones?

Couple Eden and Jay got married in July this year. Jay shared how even though she was getting married to the love of her life, she was still riddled with mixed feelings.

After coming out to her mother when she was sixteen, it didn't go down well with her mother, who ended up sending her to Guatemala to live with her dad.

She then goes on to say that she has since met so many good people and has friends who have become her family and love her so much.

As much as she is happy about spending the rest of her days with the love of her life, she is also feeling sad, sad that her mother and her sisters will not be sharing in on the happiest day of her life.

Just like her tribe, who were there for her on her special day, people came in their droves to support her in the comments section:

Elyda Micah: "My sister got married to her wife & my parents didn't go. I walked her down the aisle & told her all the family she needs is here 🤍"

Jordan Pollium: "Let yourself feel the hurt of your family, then let yourself feel the love of your WIFE! Sadness and happiness can co-exist but love always wins 💕"

Shar: "This queer mom sends all the love and hugs to you. The biggest advice I have is that you are allowed to be sad and happy at the same time."

Christina Meerloo: "It’s not what you thought it would be when you were younger, it’s better because you get to be YOU. The realest and happiest version of you."
