Piers Morgan tries the infamous Weetabix and baked beans combination

The controversial journalist tried the infamous combination after a number of popular brands from around the world weighed in on Weetabix’s bizarre serving suggestion.

While most of us eat our Weetabix (locally Weet-Bix) with milk, the British brand shared a social media post trying to convince followers to try it with baked beans.

The brand has famously shared some interesting combinations and ways for consumers to enjoy its product, but it’s latest suggestion of enjoying Heinz baked beans on top has left a sour taste in the mouth of many.

A flurry of brands weighed in on the conversation – many questioning Weetabix on this bizarre combination. “You okay, hun? DM's are open if you need to talk,” Nandos UK wrote. Dominos Pizza added: “Us: Pineapple on pizza is the most controversial food ever. Weetabix: Hold my spoon.”

As the tweet continues to divide audiences, journalist Piers Morgan decided to bite the bullet and put the bizarre combination to the test live on British talk show, 'Good Morning Britain'.

Justifying the combination, Piers said “Think about it, it's just wheat and baked beans. You have it on toast, why wouldn't you have those two things?'”

After trying the dish, Piers said: “Well, it would have been better if it was warm.”

“It's different... it's interesting," he mused, before suggesting that "this might be the new beans on toast.”
