When a video of a young boy from KZN starting gaining lots of attention on TikTok, we felt it was our mission to have a look and see what the fuss was all about...

It seems 11-year-old Aldren Evan Kaligan was all the craze for being able to solve several Rubik's Cubes.

Now if you are anything like us, then you would run when it comes to such a challenge, not because we don't think we could do it, but because we are overthinkers, and therefore we would take the longest time to figure out anything.

It is therefore safe to assume that we would be lost in the maze of the infamous Rubik's Cube.

We got the chance to chat with Aldren and this is what he had to say...

After proudly introducing himself to us, we asked him the following questions.

Q: Have Rubik's Cubes always peaked your interest?

A: "Not really, I received it as a reward for good behaviour." What a gift to receive, his dad deserves props for thinking of such a challenging and intricate gift.

Q: At what age did you solve your first cube?

A: "I first solved the 3x3 cube when I was 10."

"Kaligan now owns six versions of the plastic 3D puzzle. 'I have a 2x2, a 3x3, a square-1, a skewb, a pyraminx and a megaminx.'". (Times Live)

Q: How did you manage to solve the cube?

A: "After about a month of playing around with it, I figured out how to do it." We love this young man's confidence...

Q: Do you enjoy working on other problem solving games? Give us some examples...

A: "I enjoy jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku, and the more intricate Rubik's Cubes of which I only have six in my collection for now."

Q: What would you like to study in the future?

A: "I have a flair for drawing and sketching, so for the moment I think I would study Architecture."
