Doctor's orders: Menopause!

Menopause occurs when a woman hasn't menstruated in 12 consecutive months and can no longer become pregnant naturally. It usually begins between the ages of 45 and 55.

So in this brand new weekly feature, we will have resident doctor Wendy Dhlomo answer some of your burning health questions, and she will help separate fact from fiction.
Dr Wendy Dhlomo is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist practising at life the Crompton hospital in Pinetown. She is passionate about women's health where she sees women throughout their stages of life from puberty, childbirth, menopause and beyond.
Qualifications: MBChB (UKZN), MPH (Harvard), FCOG, MMED (ukzn).
