AI reveals what could happen to your face without seven hours of sleep

It seems the infamous 'they' were correct when they said beauty sleep is a must if you want good skin.

Have you ever wondered if there is any truth behind beauty sleep? Well, it seems there is.

"Sleep tech firm Simba has used AI to reveal what can happen to your face if you don't get enough sleep." (Daily Mail)

Try not to frown too much as you realise that all those late nights might be affecting your face...

"To create the images, Simba first surveyed 2,000 Britons on their sleep patterns, as well as the aesthetic conditions of their face. The results revealed that over half of Britons are getting less than the recommended seven hours a night, with over-55s suffering the most." (Daily Mail)

That doesn't mean that it was people in this age group that suffer the most with bad sleep patterns, hence bad skin. The Simba survey revealed that it was the 18 to 24-year-old age group that suffered the most with their dry and flaky skin and less than seven-hour sleep routine.

Check how the lack of sleep can interfere with how you look across different age groups. This is from the tomguide website.

Could we say then that a lack of sleep equates to stolen beauty?

It was mentioned that genetics do play a role in our appearance as we get older, but a lack of sleep contributes to the effects. You can change things by applying a few tips to your sleep routine.

  • Adopt a good sleep routine
  • Wake up at the same time every morning
  • Ensure your sleep space is apt for a good night's rest (good mattress, clean, tidy, minimal light, fresh bedding, etc.)
  • Adopt a good diet - as much as you might not think so, this contributes to your skin and sleep health.
