What an unfortunate meating!

Durban butcher denies selling zebra meat...

Local butcher, Emam Bux Meats Wholesale and Retail, have had their hands full putting rumours to rest.

This comes after a Hestony truck overturned on the N12 and photographs of the accident scene showcased zebra carcasses in the back of the truck.

Quickly, allegations were made that the truck was on it's way to the Durban butcher, Emam Bux.

Although there is no proof of this yet, Emam Bux has released a lengthy statement on Facebook, denying all claims that they were planning on using these carcasses.

They have also stated that the allegations originated from an opponent in the industry.

It has now been confirmed by Tarina Klokow, who is the General Manager of Logistic Refrigerated Services at Hestony, that the truck was never destined for Emam but rather was on it's way to a client in the Eastern Cape when the accident happened.

Wherever this truck was heading, we can definitely say this isn't something you see every day.
