Karen Zoid shares open letter to someone who needs hope
Updated | By Zaba
South African rock legend Karen Zoid has taken to Facebook to share this very moving open letter.

More often than not, people who struggle with substance abuse have internal wounds that they believe can’t be healed, and the only thing that helps them deal with the pain is by using.
I find that when you watch someone close to you use drugs, we are often extremely judgemental and think, “why can’t you just snap out of it?”, but it is not that easy.
We live in a society that glamorises alcohol and substance abuse, with many songs constantly referring to how glam you are when you take drugs, but we need to teach our children, who are easily influenced by the media, that that is not reality.
If you know of someone struggling with substance abuse, share this letter with them. You could just be saving a life.
