If talking about the birds and the bees to your kids is awkward, what about telling someone they have bad breath and body odour?!

Thandolwethu asked KZN how they do it, as it isn't the easiest conversation to have. Do you indirectly tell them to try different products that reduce the odour, or do you directly talk about the issue?

According to Sheild Women, 'Natural bacteria that are found on our skin feed on our sweat and release the smell that we refer to as ‘body odour’, otherwise known as bromhidrosis. The warm, damp conditions of the underarms make them an ideal environment for bacteria to thrive and for the sweat from our apocrine glands – which are more prone to releasing odour – to get trapped. This can also result in sweat patches on our clothes.'

Whilst Colgate says 'that most bad breath starts in your mouth, and there are many possible causes that include: certain foods you eat (garlic and onions, in particular), alcohol or cigarettes, poor oral hygiene, gum disease, diabetes, dry mouth, sinus or throat infections, lung infections, kidney/liver failure and gastrointestinal issues.'
