For those of us that live in Durban, we truly take the beauty of our city for granted. Sometimes we need to stop and take a good look at what's around us.

Pietermaritzburg resident Rakesh Morar is back with yet another drone footage that's bound to stun you. It showcases a place that most of us have visited at least once in our lives - and it's right on our doorstep.

In the past, Rakesh has submitted incredible drone footage of the Moses Mabhida Stadium and even the Midmar Dam overflowing. His videos have left many on social media in awe over what was captured.

The 1-minute clip, which was uploaded to his Facebook page, shows the Umhlanga Pier and the beach from a view like no other. It captures the rolling beaches, the Umhlanga Lighthouse, and the whalebone design of the pier itself.

According to reports, the pier was built back in 2007 and represents the skeleton of a whale. Its design even won the South African National Award for Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement.
