Wearable technology is known for helping you keep track of your fitness journey, but a new generation of devices is more concerned with getting you to your end goal.
Modius is a weight-loss device that’s currently running a kickstarter campaign to go into production. It’s a lightweight piece of tech that you wear on your head, with two electrodes attached to the skin behind your ears that stimulate the part of the brain related to fat storage.

As Chris Reid, Trend Researcher at the International Trend Institute explained in his recent conversation with Jane Linley-Thomas, this is another example of how the biological and artificial worlds are overlapping.
Starting at $349 (nearly R5,000), it could signal a shift in non-invasive weight loss interventions that could change our relationship with both tech and health.
