There's nothing worse than dealing with a dirty phone that is full of smudges and those dreadful prints. I simply cannot deal.

I normally have those phone cleaners in my bag, but sometimes when I've run out or change bags, I resort to using a piece of paper towel to do so.

Well, apparently, that is a big no-no - that's according to this article on CNET which chats about the right way to clean your phone. It may seem silly, but if you think using any of these things to clean your screen is acceptable, you may want to think again. You may just want to think again, people!

Here is a list of things that should NEVER be used to clean your phone:

  • Window cleaners - It could wear your protective coating on your phone.
  • Paper towels - Shrieks! They can cause scratches.
  • Vinegar - I've seen a few life-hack videos which say that it is okay to do so. Guess not. The coating can get damaged in the process.
  • Wipes - While they may be good for your hands, the alcohol on the wipes can strip off that precious coating which protects your phone.
  • Dishwashing liquid/hand soap - Okay, guys, why are we doing this? Let's keep it dry. Dry cloths are fine but stay away from the liquids.

Do you clean your phone and how often do you do it? What is your tip? Let me know below.
