Ladysmith Black Mambazo do SA proud with Grammy nominations

The legendary South African group hopes to bring home gold in 2018 after they were nominated in two categories

Whoop! I love Ladysmith Black Mambazo. They are renowned for their singing style, rhythm, and smooth beats. I still find myself tapping along to the beat whenever I hear a tune of theirs.

TimesLive recently reported that they have been nominated in two categories for the 60th Grammy Awards. The group has been nominated in the Best World Music Album category for their album Shaka Zulu Revisited: 30th Anniversary Celebration, and also in the Best Children's Album for Songs Of Peace & Love For Kids & Parents Around The World.

The team won their last award in 2013 and hope to do add another to their collection at the ceremony which takes place at New York's Madison Square Garden on 29 January 2018.

I have had the privilege of seeing them in action a few times and every time I see them, it's such a spiritual experience. These guys live in that pocket of SA royalty when it comes to their music and make me beam with pride to be South African.


The group took to their official Facebook account to express their excitement after the news broke of their nominations.
