Help the Jes Foord Foundation get a vehicle
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
To raise funds for a much-needed vehicle, the Jes Foord Foundation is hosting Flamenco Dance this July.
Listen as Tina from The Jes Foord Foundation chats to Jane about how they are trying to raise R80 000 for a vehicle to assist in the day to day activities of the foundation's volunteers.
Jessica Foord became a heroine to many in South Africa when she established The Jes Foord Foundation (JFF) following her traumatic rape by four men.

The foundation gives motivational talks to schools and organisations, and improves education about rape among men and boys, as well as women and girls. Jes' ultimate goal is to set up special care centres for survivors where they can get all the medical, psychological, and legal attention they need under one roof.
In order to continue doing the great work they do, the organisation requires assistance in the form of donations to purchase a vehicle. They need to raise R80,000 to purchase a reliable second-hand vehicle to get them into the community for their awareness talks and drop-offs for their handbag projects. Currently, their staff rely on public transport and they need to become more mobile to reach their goals for 2018. They have currently managed to raise R32,000 to date.

To help reach their target of R80,000 they have teamed up with Vida Flamenco to host a dance show from 11 - 15 July. The Foundation has 100 tickets on sale for R180 each. In celebration of an impressive 35-year legacy, the Linda Vargas Flamenco Dance Company promises to thrill audiences with a special gala season, entitled Vida Flamenco (Life of Flamenco).
Show details: performances are from Wednesday to Saturday at 7 pm with matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 pm, at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre. Jes Foord asks that payments can be made directly to the Jes Foord Foundation and they ask that you kindly use your name and 'Vida' as a reference.
