Looking back on my days as a young party girl with no idea or understanding of the repercussion, I naively used to climb into my car after a jol and drive home uttering the words 'I'm fine’.

I shudder when thinking about this behavior as the danger for not only myself but others around me could have been life changing, or even ending.

Now I won't even drive after one glass of wine.It's amazing how parenthood has the ability to put things into perspective and sober you up to the facts.

Don't get me wrong I love sipping bubbles with my girls but won't then get behind the wheel of my car.

This video from Today shows an investigative correspondent trying out a ‘drunk suit’ and going through a sobriety test. When you watch the footage, it will make you think when you utter the words ' no I promise you I'm fine to drive’.

The legal blood alcohol limit in South Africa is less than 0.05 g per 100 ml. The legal breath alcohol limit in South Africa is less than 0.24 mg in 1000 ml of breath. In simple terms, this means that 2 drinks over the space of 1 hour will put you over the limit.  

If you do find yourself under the influence, rather hand your keys to a sober driver or even take a cab. Rather not tempt fate and find yourself on the wrong side of the law. Please take care out there.
