Updated | By Stacey & J Sbu
Move over, coffee raves, Spar has started grocery store raves!

Alright, we get it, South Africa may actually be a movie.
Can you imagine minding your business while buying a loaf of bread at your local Spar only to find a DJ performing?
Well, you don’t have to imagine it because it really happened!
Kloof Street Kwikspar in Cape Town is changing the shopping game with their grocery store party sessions.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, they shared a short clip of their energetic store complete with a DJ and partygoers.
Here’s what some social media users had to say:
The_plant_lady_sa: “I couldn't understand where the music was coming from on Friday evening! 🤣 All makes sense lol.”
Interested in participating in the party, misstrush said: “No freaking way!!! 😍😍😍😍 This is amazing!!! When is the next one?! 😮”
While content creator Bridgette Kgosana joked: “Only in Cape Town 🙌😂”

An era of coffee raves
Kloof Street Kwikspar’s grocery store rave may be new, but it comes at a time when coffee raves are taking the world by storm.
You’re probably thinking, “What on earth is a coffee rave?”
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered – let’s get you in sync with the latest youth trend!
Coffee shops around the world are now featuring DJs in their cafés. This might be surprising, especially since most of us associate our morning coffee with a quiet space to kickstart the day.
But now, you'll need to prepare yourself for loud music, DJs and possibly even a crowd dancing along.
According to a report by IOL, this movement started in cities like New York, London and Amsterdam before making its way to sunny South Africa.
