From the critically acclaimed 'The Crown' to the 2021 biographical psychological drama, 'Spencer', that tells the story of Princess Diana's decision to leave Prince Charles.

Although we also know that for every incredibly well-done and perfectly executed piece of work, there are twenty low-budget, highly inappropriate movies and series that also, unfortunately, see the light of day.

We can say this because the latest of such offerings from Lifetime has been called 'tasteless' and even 'abhorrent'.

The movie, 'Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace' is a dramatisation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's decision to leave the royal family behind.

While the movie is set to be released on the 6th of September, it has been met with a severe amount of backlash because of one particular scene.

As most people know, Princess Diana tragically passed away when she was involved in a car crash in Paris and she left behind her two young boys, Prince William and Prince Harry.

So what did these Lifetime filmmakers decide to do? They thought it would be a good idea to have 'Meghan Markle' die in a car crash, surrounded by paparazzi, within the first few minutes of the opening scene.

'Meghan', played by Sydney Morton, is seen laying underneath an overturned car that was clearly involved in a car crash as Prince Harry, played by Jordan Dean, rushes towards her, pushing through the photographers and pulling the door open.

As she pleads for her husband to help her, the scene ends and the viewers see that it is only a nightmare Prince Harry had.

The movie synopsis goes: 'Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace explores what really happened inside the palace that drove Harry (Dean) and Meghan (Morton) to leave everything behind in order to make a future for themselves and their son Archie. The movie will detail Meghan's growing isolation and sadness, their disappointment that "The Firm" was not defending them against the press's attacks and Harry’s fear that history would repeat itself and he would not be able to protect his wife and son from the same forces that may have contributed to his mother’s untimely death.'

So far the trailer has not been well received and it makes sense as to why people might have a problem with this film.

We're going to have to give this one a skip.
