When you click as a team, every interaction is on point...
We asked our dynamic duo to share what their favourite interview of 2023 was.
In true spirit, they came back to us with their individual and honest insight. As you know every interview that is done at East Coast Radio is coveted and just as exciting for listeners and presenters.
Therefore it comes as no surprise to us that Stacey and J Sbu couldn't just pick one.

We've actually had a number of great chats, I mean in the nature of radio people tend to come on whichever show to promote something but what's cool about the way that everybody talks to us and I think it speaks volumes about the culture of the show is that it's always incredibly colloquial and it's always relaxed and it's never necessarily something that is overtly groundbreaking or agenda pushing, it's more a kind of catch up, we've known each other for years. We've spoken to a lot of charities this year, we've spoken to a lot of local celebrities this year, we've spoke to Ann who is the head of the Comrades, she was incredible. With every big sporting event that happens compliments of our sports lead, Nicholas Tatham, we kind of get to get in there and just have a chat with a human-human connection moment. It's been a pretty remarkable year in terms of proper conversations- Stacey Norman
Stacey went on to explain the importance in producing authentic moments for the listener. She brought up the question, "what's in it for the listener" when it comes to interviews.
She grazed on the point of being more human on the radio and finding that point of connection between them as presenters with the listeners and with their interviewees.
Then it was J Sbu's turn and this is what he had to say.
MORE ON EAST COAST RADIO
I know this is going to sound boring but I enjoyed every interview that happened on Stacey and J Sbu, from the recent one with DJ Sox, Zakes Bantwini. Everyone we spoke to on the show, we really, really had the intention of wanting to have them in the studio and wanting to chat with them as people of interest, as people who inspire and people who are just doing amazing things. So, just to put them all under one umbrella, everyone that we've had an interview with was amazing.- J Sbu
J Sbu also took moment to remind you that you can go back and listen to the interviews, just see the links to the interviews below.
