We can only imagine the shock, horror, and disbelief from the bride-to-be who was terrorised by her mother-in-law's sticky fingers.

We all hear horrible stories about spiteful in-laws trying to break up weddings and turn things ugly, but this was “simply inexcusable”.

This bride took to Reddit to share her terrible tale, which involves a pair of diamond earrings, her mother-in-law, and the police. All of this on her big day!

When the bride got engaged her mother gave her a pair of earrings. She was told that every woman for generations in their family had worn to their wedding day.

“I felt very honoured to be given them and it made me feel closer to my grandmother who had died two months prior,” said the 28-year-old bride.

The plot thickens as we learn things took an even worse turn…

“I found her and confronted her and she said she didn’t take them. I asked if I could look through her bag and she said no and gripped onto it. I said that if she didn’t let me look I would call the police, which I then did as she still wouldn’t let me look."

The police then arrived and searched said bag and the earrings were found in her bag!

They were returned to the bride and they asked if she wanted to press charges.

“I wanted to talk to my fiancé first and he said he would support me if I wanted to. I didn’t want to decide at that moment so I just ignored it and had a great night.”

Despite the bride taking the high road, that side of the family came down on the wicked mother-in-law hard. She began to receive threatening messages, calls, and texts.
