If you work yourself to death, then this is for you...

Office furniture, like home décor, is meant to be a reflection of one's style.

But this hip and happening 'deadly' design has been the talk of the office with its controversial design.

'The Last Shift Office Chair' is a collection that hosts coffin-shaped chairs. The designer's motivation stemmed from people who work long hours at their computer.

The chair is designed just like a coffin is and resembles an upward standing casket, a little more than we would like...

Many have been wondering about "how it may perform with lumbar support, the Chairbox creator said that a study found that spending six to eight hours a day sitting increased the risk of death." (NDTV)

The design teases the part of office place culture where people sit too much at their desks.

This coming after a woman on TikTok recently shared that her boss requested for them to stand at their workstations because sitting didn't look good.

Of course, in terms of the ergonomics, this coffin chair design is anything but supportive, but we love the real-life pun on working long hours seated.

Funnily (and ironically) enough the chair designer was inspired to design the chair based on his own experience working long hours on a chair.

The Chairbox Design website reads: ""By design, humans weren't created to sit on chairs for eight hours a day. The whole behavioural shift happened recently and our bodies haven't adapted yet.

"Even if you exercise it's still not enough. Also, there is a law in the UK that makes employers provide standing desk options at their offices. The awareness is there but it's not enough."

The sad reality is that many people have fallen into this work culture that is overly demanding and their health, both mental and physical, bear the brunt...

This chair is just a representation of that reality. We hope you don't have to be rolled off in this coffin chair.
