"I just found out that my 60-year-old boyfriend and my dad were friends in high school"- KZN listener

When it comes to matters of the heart, there are no rules, hence the saying: 'the heart wants what the heart wants'.

Stacey and J Sbu heard from KZN listener Carla this week for their feature, #TheFixer. 

#TheFixer is a feature on Stacey and J Sbu's show in which the duo gives KZN listeners an opportunity to share their dilemmas that they seek advice on. Together with the help of fellow KZN listeners, Stacey and J Sbu try to help the concerned party fix their problem.

Carla is basking in the bliss of new love with her boyfriend of six months and by the sounds of things, she is absolutely smitten with him. 

So, why then write into Stacey and J Sbu for #TheFixer? 

Well, Carla made the discovery that her boyfriend and her father did not only grow up together and at were at some stage friends in high school, but that her two uncles, her dad's brothers, were in the same class as her boyfriend. 

Yikes! 

So, some context. Carla's boyfriend is in his early sixties and is almost thirty years her senior.

Upon the discovery, Carla's boyfriend has since suggested that she let her father and uncles know who he is. 

Carla's family are aware that she is dating and that the man she is dating may be a few years older than her, however they had not been in the same room as a couple with them.

He believes that this would be the right thing to do, a courtesy if you will. 

Carla, though, disagrees. She believes that as an adult she does not need to explain herself and questions whether it matters that her boyfriend and her dad may have been friends before.
