Gen Z slang is all about being real, authentic and expressive. It's a language that's constantly evolving, with new words and phrases popping up all the time. Don't worry, we've got you covered. Here are some popular Gen Z slang terms you need to know:
- Ate: When someone's killing it, they're "ate." It's a way of saying they're doing something exceptionally well.
- Bussin': Something that's really good is "bussin'." Whether it's food, a movie, or a song, if it's bussin', it's worth checking out.
- Cap: When someone's lying or exaggerating, they're "capping." If you're telling the truth, you can say "no cap."
- Ghosted: If someone's ignoring you and not responding to your messages, you've been "ghosted."
- Glow up: A "glow up" is when someone undergoes a significant transformation and improvement. It's a way of acknowledging someone's hard work and dedication.
- GOAT: The "GOAT" is the Greatest of All Time. It's a way of showing respect and admiration for someone who's exceptional at what they do.
Other Gen Z slang terms you might find useful include:
- Bae: Your significant other or someone you're crushing on.
- Bet: A way of saying yes or agreeing with someone.
- Boujee: Something that's fancy or luxurious.
- Lit: Something that's exciting or fun.
- Slay: When someone's doing something exceptionally well, they're "slaying" it.
