Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, known professionally as AKA, has revealed that he was once diagnosed with clinical depression.

AKA revealed this to his followers on social media.

He says the diagnoses was made "many many months ago" and reveals that he was given antidepressant, Wellbutrin XL 150, to help treat the condition.

However, the star says he struggled with the pills.

“I was diagnosed with clinical depression many many months ago. I couldn’t handle them," he wrote.

“To anybody reading this, just hang in there. Trust me,” he added.

The rapper has had a tough year, after losing his fiancée Nellie Tembe.

Nellie died on Sunday, 11 April 2021, at the five-star Pepperclub Hotel in central Cape Town.
