Adulthood is not the dream that was sold to us as youngsters

Being an adult means you need to be accountable for your own life. In addition to that, you sometimes have to be accountable for other people's lives, because if you aren't, no one else will.

Everything in life now costs money. Trips to the mall, hospital, doctor's appointments, school fees, lights, food, entertainment, petrol, water, the list goes on...

Then you find yourself doing some heavy lifting that you didn't ask for, but out of nowhere, it ends up being your responsibility and hurting your pocket at the same time. 

Sometimes those sacrifices aren't even financial, as we end up not doing things that we really want to do because of the people we care for. We end up taking on certain responsibilities that we weren't even asked to take over or those people don't even know about, just so those nearest and dearest to us can be happy or live a happy life.
