#TrendReport: Find your next date using augmented reality

Online and app-enabled dating is pretty much the norm these days, but one startup is taking it further by making it more immediate than ever before.

FlirtAR is an app that combines geolocation with online dating. It doesn’t just show you who the nearby singles are, it shows you where they are. As you move your phone around it pops up profiles over the real world showing roughly where nearby potential matches are.

As Chris Reid, Trend Researcher at the International Trend Institute explained in his recent conversation with Jane Linley-Thomas, it’s just another extension of the Augmented Reality Trend. But it also says something about our comfort in being tracked by technology - especially if we can get something out of it.
