The race unfolded with nail-biting suspense, leaving spectators on the edge of their seats until the very last stride.

In a remarkable display of skill and grit, Winchester Mansion etched its name in history, clinching the coveted Durban July title by the barest of margins.

According to IOL, Kabelo Matsunyane scored the biggest win of his career as Winchester Mansion got the better of hometown favourite, 'See It Again', in a tight finish.

Winchester Mansion, trained by renowned horse racing expert John Stevens, had long been seen as an underdog in the Durban July.

Its journey to the prestigious event had been anything but smooth. The horse had faced setbacks and struggles along the way, often being overshadowed by more favoured contenders.

However, it was precisely this underdog status that fuelled the determination of the entire team, pushing them to defy the odds and give their all on race day.

In a breathtaking finale that had the entire audience gasping in disbelief, Winchester Mansion surged forward, its every stride brimming with determination and purpose.

In an almost surreal moment, Winchester Mansion inched forward by the narrowest of margins, clinching victory in a photo finish that left spectators in awe.

In an event that was enjoyed by all, our main sports guru Sky Tshabalala was suited and looked like a million bucks.

The Breakfast co-host was dashing in his suit and, of course, hanging around with A-listers who were present.
