Sadia was shot and killed in a botched hijacking which took place in Shallcross on Monday morning. The death has sparked outrage within the community.

Gun violence in the country has spiralled out of control, and enough is enough!

Since KZN is our home, and we care about the well-being of all our people, East Coast Radio wants you to join us and Stand Up For Sadia and the many other victims of gun violence by wearing and displaying anything orange this Friday, 1 June.

Encourage your friends, family, colleagues, and schools to take part and take a stand. Share pictures and videos of yourself wearing or displaying orange on social media and use the hashtag: #StandUpForSadia.

The colour orange has been chosen as it has been the defining colour of the gun violence prevention movement. By wearing orange, you too can join us and stand up!

We urge you to report unlicensed guns, and suspicious and criminal activity to the police. We are calling on every one of you and your communities to be more vigilant and help the police put an end to gun violence.

So stand with us, and let's #StandUpForSadia and for the many other victims of gun violence.
