Spotify just dropped a ‘snooze’ button (and more)

Spotify just dropped a Snooze button for songs you’ve totally overplayed

Do you ever get to that point where you’ve played your favourite song so many times, it starts haunting your dreams?
Well, Spotify’s finally heard our silent cries for help and is testing a brand new Snooze button.
Not the kind you hit in the morning when your alarm is ruining your life.
This one lets you temporarily remove a song from your recommendations for 30 days.
Yup, you can now politely tell that track you once loved (but now kinda loathe) to take a little holiday from your playlists.
How ‘Snooze’ works
If you’re a Premium subscriber (sorry, free-tier fam), you’ll spot the new Snooze option when you choose to hide a song from your playlist.
Hit it, and poof, it won’t show up in your recommendations for a whole month.
It’s a small, sweet victory for those of us overplaying that same song that reminds us of our ex.
There’s more though! Spotify’s also tweaked its Hide button.
Now, when you hide a track on one device, it vanishes from your playlists on all your devices.
The queue is upgraded
Premium users are also getting a queue makeover.
This upgrade comes with a sleek new design and easy access to shuffle, smart shuffle, repeat, and a sleep timer.
Plus, when your queue runs dry, Spotify will now suggest new tracks to keep the vibe going.
For the playlist junkies
Managing playlists on mobile also just got easier.
Now you’ll find handy Add, Sort, and Edit buttons right at the top of your playlists.
There’s even a cool new option for users in South Africa (yes, we made the cut!), US, Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand to turn your liked songs into a playlist.
For the social butterflies, the new ‘Create’ button lets Premium users build playlists with friends or dive into AI-powered playlists.
In short, Spotify is spring cleaning its app, and we’re here for it.
Now, if only they’d let us snooze Mariah Carey every December.
Unfortunately that’s a fight for another day.
