Today can be considered one of the most stressful but exciting days for all kids and parents. 

18 January is the return to school for all kids in the coastal region of KwaZulu-Natal.

While some parents are bracing themselves for the back-to-school shopping rush in KZN, others share a terrifying feeling. 

So we had to bring in an expert to help kids as well as parents control that anxious feeling. 

Paul Tosio, an Oxford qualified Psychologist and leading international learning specialist, is here to share advice as well as help anxious school kids and anxious parents with some tips to help you relax.

Develop a relationship with the teachers

Having a relationship with them will help you support your child better because you can get to know the challenges your child faces and look at ways to help them. 

Check your child's books

Make it a habit of going through your child's books and seeing how they are performing.

Solutions

If your child is struggling with certain subjects, look at ways in which you can support him or her.

Set aside time for doing school work

Setting aside at least an hour for school work can go a long way in helping your child thrive at school.
