Remember when we asked you what shows you were still watching from SABC 1, 2, 3 or eTV? We wanted to check if the research results by Broadcast Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA) match our very own.

According to the BRCSA's latest data, dramas and soapies remain the most popular types of shows in South Africa during the prime time hours between 17:30 and 22:00. We can all give this a nod. After a long day at work or school - whether together or separately in our rooms - at least one local soapie will be enjoyed before sleeping.

The top three most-watched TV shows in South Africa, from the latest research which was in May, were all broadcast on SABC 1.
