GTA 6 delayed (again), and gamers are fuming
Rockstar Games just delayed GTA 6 again and gamers are losing their minds.
It’s happened again. Rockstar Games has officially delayed the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI, and the streets of the internet are in absolute chaos.
Originally scheduled to drop in spring 2025, the game will now launch on May 26, 2026.
Yes, another 12 months added to what already feels like a lifetime wait.
Honestly, at this rate, some of us will be retired, married with kids, and yelling at those same kids to get off our virtual lawns before we even get to steal our first car in GTA 6.
In a statement shared on their website, Rockstar Games explained that the extra time is needed to deliver a game “at the level of quality you expect and deserve”.
That’s gamer-speak for: we’re not done yet, stop asking.
To get a sense of the heartbreak, just ask 27-year-old Dienne Kawende.
Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, he confessed, “I’m absolutely furious right now. There’s fire flowing through my body.”
Same, Kawende. Same.
Kawende isn’t alone. The frustration runs deep, and it’s not just about the wait. GTA 6 will only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S at launch.
If you’ve been clinging onto your PS4 like it’s a family heirloom, we have some bad news. You’re going to have to upgrade.
Just to sprinkle a little salt on the wound, both Sony and Microsoft have recently hiked the prices of their consoles. Classic.
Kawende even took a job this year to save up for a PS5, specifically for GTA 6. Now?
“It’s all ruined,” he says.
And you know what? I felt that. Deep in my gamer soul.
We can all agree that Rockstar Games makes incredible games.
GTA 5 was a masterpiece. Red Dead Redemption 2 made us all cry over a fictional cowboy. We trust them to deliver magic.
However, this 12-year marathon is testing even the most patient fans.
It’s like waiting for your food at a restaurant. You know it’ll be good. You know the chef’s a genius.
After two hours though, you’re Googling how long a burger is supposed to take.
So, mark your calendars for May 26, 2026.
Hopefully, you’re still alive, still gaming, and not too busy raising those future gamers.
In the meantime, dust off your PS5 savings jar, avoid spoilers (because leaks are inevitable), and maybe replay GTA 5 for the ninth time.
