Cooking oil has become so expensive in South Africa that a group of gunmen stormed one of Willowton Group’s warehouses and stole an undisclosed amount of Sunfoil 2 litre oil. The KwaZulu-Natal company, which has operations across South Africa, offered a R100 000 reward to anyone with vital information.

The application fee for some South African passports will double on 1 November. The fee for a standard, 32-page passport for adults and children will go up to R600. It previously cost R400. The price of a 48-page "maxi" passport will increase from R600 to R1,200!
