As we gear up for the last day of June, here are five things you need to know before you get out of bed:

Carbon monoxide poisoning is believed to be the reason behind the tragic deaths of 21 teenagers at Enyobeni Tavern in East London over the weekend. News24 is reporting that a petrol generator located inside the tavern released toxic fumes.

Former Miss South Africa and radio presenter Liesl Laurie is closing her chapter with Jacaranda FM after seven years on the radio station. She also confirmed her last show with her much-loved team on Breakfast with Martin Bester will be on Thursday, 30 June.

Andy Murray suffered his earliest ever defeat at Wimbledon on Wednesday, beaten 6-4, 7-6 (7/4), 6-7 (3/7), 6-4 by big-serving John Isner in the second round. The British two-time champion struggled to tame the giant American's serve, failing to break once in the match on Centre Court.

Disgraced R&B singer R Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Wednesday for leading a decade-long effort to recruit and trap teenagers and women for sex. Judge Ann Donnelly handed down the term in the Brooklyn Federal Court, nearly a year after Kelly was convicted by a New York jury.
