We bet the French President was not expecting this 'un-eggcited' welcome by one spectator at a recent hospitality appearance...

It's hump day and we are excited to share five things with you as you wake up. Here we go...

First up, it seems that getting vaccinated is going to become mandatory for some establishments. Stellenbosch University announced that they will be looking into students having to be vaccinated ahead of the 2022 academic year.

Naspers is also considering doing the same for their employees. Check out Tuesday's five things here to see the good news about South Africa and the third wave...

We have been eagerly listening out for the weather updates as we have been told that the next week or so will be rainy. As usual we get  a personalised report from Mike V about whether it's safe to do laundry and, unfortunately, if you have a basket full, then it's going to have to marinate in there for a while.

In true KZN temperamental weather style, a high on Monday has turned into rain today. No news on snow predictions though. Just be prepared, you never know what may happen, news sources say that we can expect flooding.

This happened to the French President, Emmanuel Macron, after he decided to participate in a hospitality event in Lyon, France. It wasn't very hospitable when a spectator threw an egg on him.

Reports say that an eye witness saw a young man throw the egg and he was immediately detained. But the good news is that the egg is fine and so is the President, who went on the rest of the day smiling and waving.

Good news for travellers and in particular those who love island life. FlySafair has announced their fares for the route between Johannesburg and Mauritius and it is among the cheapest in the world currently.

The route will be operational on 11 December 2021. Any takers?

Just as Darren Maule tests the substitute Sky TshabsNick Tathum, about who is better, The Beatles or Drake, and he passes with flying colours, we note an interesting fact about John Lennon.

A 1970 tape of John Lennon singing a hitherto unheard song called 'Radio Peace' and expressing frustration at his Beatles image to a group of Danish schoolboys will be on auction this week. The 33-minute tape was recorded on 5 January 1970.
