People who own homes will always look to renovate/upgrade in order to maintain a certain value. Plus, it's nice to live in a home which you have had a hand in creating.
However, according to Business Tech, some renovations/upgrades actually bring the value of a house down! Who would have thought?
These include:
- Building within an expensive neighbourhood
- Either applying wallpaper or textured finishes on walls
- Carpeting way too much
- Bright and bold colours applied everywhere in the house
- Removing closets
- Built in high-end electronics
- Having a lot of Do It Yourself (DIY) projects around.
