Disturbing footage of a Chinese teacher slapping over twenty pupils on the first day of school has caused quite the uproar.
A teacher at a middle school in China didn't get the new school year off to a very good start.
Disturbing footage has been doing the rounds on social media showing a teacher slapping student after student, with the sound of the slaps ringing out across the classroom.

According to Beijing News, the teacher asked the students to write some classical poetry from memory on their first day back from summer vacation. If they made a mistake, they got slapped.

There is no justifiable reason for physically harming anyone, especially when parents entrust their kids with teachers and schools.
