KZN Education says a teacher who was filmed caning two girls with a stick has been suspended.
The department's Kwazi Mthethwa says the teacher was told of the suspension last night - the incident's still under investigation.
"As the Department of Education in KZN, we stand firm against any form of violence in our schools including corporal punishment," he says.

The video was taken during lessons at Umdlamfe Secondary near Richards Bay.
The footage - which's been circulated widely on social media - shows the teacher pushing one learner and pulling her jersey off before hitting her several times.
