Welcome to another edition of The Big Favour with Darren, Keri, and Sky.

The recent #KZNFloods once again showed us the spirit of Ubuntu in KZN. Communities came together and continue to do so to help those in need.

That spirit continued again with Riette's wonderful team at Queen's Soup Kitchen. If you recall, Riette Makkink had written to Big Favour requesting to get a sponsor to donate cupboards for their soup kitchen.

When entering the site for inspection, the reality was that their kitchen was too small and they needed a bigger space.

Queen's Soup Kitchen provides meals on Wednesdays and Sundays, but Riette would love to feed people every single day.

Listen to Riette recapping some of the successes and failures she's endured throughout the Queen's Soup Kitchen process:

After weeks of pulling together big investors, the entire East Coast Radio team went to Queensburgh for the grand opening of their new Queen's Soup Kitchen.

The day turned out to be a dream come true for the Queen's Soup Kitchen team, as well as the community members of Queensburgh.

There was a full turn out of people who came to show support for the project.

Darren together with everyone involved in this project officially opened the new kitchen which you can find below:

Not only was the community of Queensburgh there, but there were also the investors who have been part of the process of turning this dream into reality.

Energy Drive came to the rescue and donated a container worth R40,000. Peter and Fabiola donated a kitchen worth R100,000 and Westwood Mall handed over a cheque worth R50,000.
