Beyoncé Lemonade: So is Jay Z off the hook?
Updated | By Natarah Nadesan
The twitterverse exploded this weekend after Beyoncé dropped her new record Lemonade. So what’s all the fuss about?
So here’s the deal. The record came hours after Mrs. Knowles-Carter released an hour-long film on TV that included clips from the new album.
A song that really got fans talking is “Apathy.” Why? Well, fans say the track alludes to Jay Z’s cheating.
Here are some of the lyrics:
“So what are you gonna say at my funeral now that you’ve killed me? Here lies the body of the love of my life whose heart I broke without a gun to my head…Her heaven will be a love without betrayal. Ashes to ashes, dust to side chicks.”
Beyoncé also apparently sings about the ‘other’ woman she says, “he better call Becky with the good hair.” Fans have since been hating on Becky who everyone seems to think is fashion designer, Rachel Roy. She was married with Jay’s former partner Damon Dash. People also seem to think she’s the reason for Solange’s outburst in the lift in 2014. Remember that?
Rachel Roy's post on Instagram
I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn't be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.
