What the heck is going on in Beyonce and Jay-Z's world? Social media went crazy last night when video footage was released apparently showing the rapper being attacked by his wife's sister Solange in a lift. Watch the dramatic scene here...
There's never a dull moment in the land of showbiz.
An entertainment website's released CCTV footage that appears to show rapper Jay-Z being attacked by his wife Beyonce's sister in a lift. In the video, the trio along with their bodyguard are seen heading into the lift after a party at New York's Standard Hotel, last Monday.
We see Solange Knowles verbally confront the rapper before going all 'Bruce Lee' on him.
She lashes out several times at her brother-in-law, before a security guard intervenes. Solange also smacks Jay-Z with her purse, which bursts open and sends a flying kick his way, which he tries to block.
In the scene, which lasts for around three minutes, Beyonce is seen looking demure and stands in the corner without getting involved. She does, at one point though, remove the train of her dress from under the foot of the bodyguard.
The shocking black and white footage is grabbing headlines across the world and also began trending in South Africa last night. It's unclear what sparked the violent scuffle.
The New York hotel says it's investigating how the footage got leaked adding it's "shocked and disappointed" that its security system had been breached.
