Online dating is a process in itself. Before finding someone who one would even consider a date with, it’s important to weed out the duds. So, when Nivine Jay matched with Ben Affleck on a celebrity dating app, she immediately unmatched with him assuming that he was a catfish. But, the star found her Instagram page and sent her a video message assuring her that it is him.
According to Nivine, she and the ‘Batman V Superman’ actor matched on Raya – an app often described as the celebrity version of Tinder. Celebrities flock to the site because the dating app requires a membership and a vetting process. It describes itself as being “an exclusive dating and networking platform for people in creative industries.”
Sharing the story on her TikTok page, Nivine says: “Thinking of the time I matched with Ben Affleck on Raya and thought it was fake so I unmatched him and he sent me a video on Instagram.”
The clip then cuts to a video of Affleck assuring her that he isn’t a catfish. “Nivine, why did you unmatch me? It’s me,” he says.
Ben has been unlucky in love. His relationship with Jennifer
Lopez saw the former couple become one of the biggest celebrity couples at the
time. Ben then married actress Jennifer Garner, whom he shares three children
with. After their divorce, Ben was linked to ‘Saturday Night Live’ producer Lindsay
Shookus and was recently linked to ‘Knives Out’ actress Ana de Armas.
Ben isn’t the first celebrity to join Raya after a
break-up. Demi Lovato revealed that she signed up to Raya after she split with
ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama in 2016 and it’s been reported that Channing
Tatum became a member after his split from British singer Jessie J.
