Animal cruelty outcry as dog allegedly hanged in Durban

How long until people finally realise how cruel and inhumane it is to torture animals, sometimes to death?
This case is one of many, where a dog was killed.

A Facebook group, Friends of Paws KZN, shared a post on Facebook titled, 'Little dog hanged in Bonela KZN!'.
In the post, the author reveals:
How long can this go on? How many posts of animal abuse before it stops? Animal Lovers and Animal Activists need to help and become the voice for the voiceless! Cats chopped in half! Dogs hanged! Many more incidents of horrific abuse! It can’t go on! We will not remove this post! Justice Justice Justice”

There has since been public outrage - and rightly so.
Debbie Holmes, who was the original person who posted the images, shared that the dog's owners laughed when the neighbours went to untie her little body.

A comment by Deborah Marais:
Moral decay of society...no conscience at all. My heart breaks for that poor innocent and defenceless little do. What did he do to deserve that. RIP sweetheart, you are safe now and free of this evil and heartless world."
Section 2(1) of the Animal Protection Act 1962 lays out acts of cruelty that are prohibited. This is a detailed list that includes deliberate acts such as overloading, causing unnecessary suffering by confining, chaining or tethering, abandonment...
So when the owner are founded it is only right that they are apprehended.
