A brilliant baby stroller invention by high school students for paralysed father
Updated | By Darren, Keri and Sky
This is a genius creation by high school engineering students.

People with disabilities are very much a part of society and a progressive world should include environments conducive to their limited mobility. In this case, a teacher and 10 of his brilliant students created a wheelchair with an attached carriage so a fellow teacher's husband could stroll with their new baby.
According to The Washington Post, Matt Zigler asked his students in their creative lab to build a wheelchair that would be compatible with a baby carriage.

A fellow teacher, Chelsie King (32), spoke with Zigler about how she and her husband were expecting a baby in June and they were struggling to find a wheelchair which could be used with a stroller.
Zigler and the group of students took this as a chance to create their own invention.
Chelsea King’s husband, Jeremy (37), had a brain tumour which was successfully removed in 2017. Unfortunately, it left him with mobility and speech challenges.
“Even going out on a walk is so incredibly difficult for me,” Jeremy said to The Washington Post.

From November last year to March 2021, these students were motivated to have the project completed, which they were calling the “WheeStroll”.
What they did is borrow a wheelchair from the nurse’s office, took two strollers and a car seat that were all donated to the class for this specific experiment.
They collaborated with the Kings to personalise WheeStroll for Jeremy and looked into things like weather and what equipment he would want and need. The students also took into account how to adapt the equipment for when the child gets older.
These opportunities for young children are so empowering and allow them to further look forward to creating new inventions. Their ideas are validated.
We also applaud this genius invention that will make parenting easier for Jeremy in terms of journeying in the malls, the park, and more spaces.
