1. Darth Vader actor Dave Prowse dies

Dave Prowse, the British actor best known for playing Darth Vader in the original 'Star Wars' trilogy, has died. A former body-builder turned actor, Prowse's towering stature at almost two metres clinched him the role of the instantly-recognisable antagonist in the original 'Star Wars' trilogy.

2. Ishtar Lakhani makes it onto BBC 100 Women list

Human rights defender Ishtar Lakhani has been named by the BBC in its list of 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world for the year 2020. This year, the BBC 100 Women is highlighting those who are leading change and making a difference during these turbulent times. Another South African to make the list is singer and songwriter Bulelwa Mkutukana, better known as Zahara.

3. A lucky escape for Roman Grosjean in the Bahrain Grand Prix

The Bahrain Grand Prix was red-flagged on the opening lap after an horrific accident for Haas driver Romain Grosjean. His car erupted into flames upon contact with the ArmCo barrier on the exit of Turn Three, resulting in the race being immediately red-flagged as medical services rushed to the scene.

4. 84 trucks burnt in protests against the employment of foreign nationals

Close to 84 trucks have been burnt so far in protests by local truck drivers who are complaining of being marginalised in favour of foreign nationals. The violent strike started almost six months ago. They embarked on a national shutdown to fight against the employment of foreigners in most sectors for a lower wage. Economist Mike Schussler said the strike would lead to an increase in food prices and a jobs bloodbath.

5. Snoop Dogg's commentary entertains audience during Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr fight

If Mike Tyson re-entering the ring after 15 years to go up against Roy Jones Jr wasn’t entertaining enough, Snoop Dogg’s hilarious commentary certainly was. The fight between the two heavyweight champions took place on Saturday at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. True to style, Snoop lit up a spliff on stage and performed for the crowds watching at home, before taking his place alongside his co-commentator Mauro Ranallo.
